Resource Room for Persons With Disabilities

Every year, the Disability Issues in Psychology Office coordinates and provides continuous staff support to the Disability Resource Room. This bustling area housed within the main convention center is solely dedicated to providing services to our convention attendees with disabilities and those with chronic or medical health conditions. The resource room provides a place to rest or relax; assistance with hotel and convention information; access to the convention program using screen reading software; wheelchairs and canes available for loan; and help from volunteers.

The following lists the full array of services offered in the Resource Room:

  • Loaner wheelchairs and canes
  • On call Sign Language interpreters
  • Volunteers
  • Convention program on file
  • Laptop equipped with vocalization software, specifically JAWS
  • TTY telephone service
  • Quiet, private place to rest
  • Shuttle service, equipped with a wheelchair lift
  • Portable First-aid kit
