APA’s resource room for persons with disabilities
Every year, the Disability Issues in Psychology Office coordinates and provides continuous staff support to the Disability Resource Room. This bustling area housed within the main convention center is dedicated to providing services to our convention attendees with disabilities. It is utilized by persons with disabilities who desire a place to rest or relax; need assistance with hotel and convention information; to access the convention program using screen reading software; to borrow wheelchairs and canes; and to secure the help of a volunteer.

Loaner wheelchairs and canes
On call Sign Language interpreters
Volunteers
Convention program on file
Laptop equipped with vocalization software, specifically JAWS
TTY telephone service
Quiet, private place to rest
Shuttle service, equipped with a wheelchair lift
Portable First-aid kit
During the 2012 APA Convention, the Resource Room will have the following hours of operation:

7 a.m.-6 p.m.Friday, Aug. 3
7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 4
