Climate Indicators
The Graduate Faculty in Psychology Interested in Lesbian, Gay, & Bisexual Issues 2005 questionnaire asked the following questions about courses offered:
- Does your institution require a doctrinal oath?
- Are one or more members of your current students and/or faculty openly self-identified as lesbian, gay, or bisexual?
- Are there any things you do in your recruitment efforts to specifically encourage applications from openly lesbian, gay, or bisexual persons?
- Are there organizations for lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals on your campus?
- Does your institution discourage or prohibit lesbian, gay, or bisexual organizations for faculty or students?
- Is sexual orientation specifically mentioned in your institution's non-discrimination policy?
- Does your institution have a coordinator for lesbian, gay, and bisexual academic or student services?
- Are any spousal benefits extended to same-sex partners of faculty or students at your institution?

Only programs answering "yes" to the questions are included in the tables. A program missing from these tables may have answered "no" to the questions or may not have returned the questionnaire at all. Seventy-six (76) per cent of the doctoral programs and eighty-four (84) per cent of the masters programs did not respond to the survey. Some of the programs that did not respond may have faculty interested in lesbian, gay, and bisexual issues.
Responses elaborating on spousal benefits extended to same-sex partners have been endnoted.
