2010 Class of Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology is Selected
The Committee on Women in Psychology and the Women’s Programs Office are pleased to announce the selection of the 2010 Class of the Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology (LIWP). This year’s class represents talented individuals from diverse regions and backgrounds. The LIWP: Year Three will commence in earnest on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 10-11, 2010 with a one-and-one-half day workshop held in San Diego, California just prior to the APA Convention. The LIWP: Year Three also includes an in-person follow-up meeting to be held in Washington, DC on March 24, 2011. Bimonthly Webinars, during which noted psychologists will present on issues regarding leadership scholarship and research, education, and development, will be held throughout the program year. In addition, participants will be encouraged to meet via telephone in small groups and as needed with LIWP faculty to discuss issues they are currently facing.
The LIWP is committed to cultivating a cohort of women psychologist leaders to promote positive changes in institutional and organizational life, to increase the diversity, number, and effectiveness of women psychologists as leaders, and to encourage their desire, skills, experience, and vision to be change agents in their communities and for the field of psychology. If you have questions about the LIWP or you would like more information about Women’s Programs Office activities, please contact our office via e-mail or telephone at (202) 336-6044.
