The world’s women 2010: Trends and statistics
The report is published every five years as called for in the Beijing Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995. This latest report is the fifth in the series. The World’s Women 2010 reveals progress towards the goal of gender equality in the last two decades in a number of areas. In some areas it is clear where gender equality is a long way off. These areas of concern, such as population and families, health, education, work, power and decision-making, violence against women, environment, and poverty are explained in detail within the report. An extensive selection of statistics and indicators at country level can be found in the Statistical Annex.
