2011 Class of the APA Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology is announced
The Committee on Women in Psychology and the Women’s Programs Office are pleased to announce the selection of the 2011 Class of the APA Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology (LIWP). This year’s class represents talented individuals from diverse regions and backgrounds. The LIWP: Year Four will commence in earnest on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 1-3, 2011, with a two-and-one-half day workshop held in Washington, DC just prior to the APA Convention. The LIWP: Year Four also includes an in-person follow-up meeting to be held in Washington, DC on March 29, 2011. Bimonthly Webinars, during which noted psychologists will present on issues regarding leadership scholarship and research, education, and development, will be held throughout the program year. In addition, participants will be encouraged to meet via telephone in small groups and as needed with LIWP faculty to discuss issues they are currently facing.
The LIWP is committed to cultivating a cohort of women psychologist leaders to promote positive changes in institutional and organizational life, to increase the diversity, number, and effectiveness of women psychologists as leaders, and to encourage their desire, skills, experience, and vision to be change agents in their communities and for the field of psychology. If you have questions about the LIWP or you would like more information about Women’s Programs Office activities, please contact our office via email or telephone at (202) 336-6044.
