Clarity of Presentation TOTAL: 25% I. Organization 10% II. Expression of knowledge about area 10% III. Professional presentation style 5% Competition Procedures and Timeline Electronic submissions are preferred but not required. August 31, 2007 Submit 600-800 word abstract along with the proposal cover sheet and all other required materials to the conference coordinator at APA. Please refer to the conference topic list to see the full range of eligible topics in occupational health psychology. August 31 - Every effort will be made to provide quick feedback on abstracts that have been designated for this competition. However, please DO NOT WAIT to hear from APA to begin preparing your manuscript for this competition. (Acceptance of your abstract is required to be included in the competition; however, the timing is too close to delay preparing your manuscript until after you hear from APA.) At the time of acceptance notification, you will be invited to submit your research project for the Student Award competition. Specific details on length and format of the competitive paper will be provided at this time; however, try to work toward a full-length manuscript submission of approximately 30 pages total. Please refer to the excellence in research award criteria for pre-conference evaluation when drafting your manuscript. January 3, 2008 Deadline to submit the competitive paper to the Complete and submit the Student Research Competition Submission Statement January February, 2008 Student Award Competition peer review (see the award criteria). Papers will be blind-reviewed, and will not be reviewed by any person who may serve as an advisor or committee member to the student. February, 2008 Notification of Finalists. March, 2008 Finalists will be observed during the conference sessions to evaluate quality and manner of presentation. The Award Winner will be announced during the Closing Plenary session.
