Goals of the Meeting

  1. Learn what has worked to create positions for psychologists and psychology trainees in Community Health Centers, particularly through working with state primary care associations.
  2. Assist California in its primary care initiative.
  3. Create an action plan to translate the lessons learned across the country into success in other regions.
  4. Build the foundation for a partnership among state psychological associations, state primary care associations, the American Psychological Association, federal agencies, and other relevant psychology partners to further this initiative.

  3. Who could be other partners in this initiative?
  4. What are the next steps?

Crafting the Message: What Does Psychology Bring to Community Health Centers and How Can We Get CHCs to Value Psychologists?

  1. What opportunities exist to further this agenda, and who would be most amenable to supporting it and following through with action?
  2. What sort of message do we want to create?
  3. How do we present it to be most successful?
  4. Who should deliver the message and what materials do they need?
  5. What are the specific action plans for us to further the agenda?
