Karen Franklin, Ph.D. is a forensic psychologist in private practice in El Cerrito, California.  She has also been a criminal investigator and a legal affairs journalist. Her research into the motivations of hate crime perpetrators was partially funded by a grant from the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation.
