Annie Toro, J.D., M.P.H., Associate Executive Director for Public Interest Government Relations. Provides overall direction for public interest policy initiatives, while focusing on general mental health policy (e.g., Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, Surgeon General’s Office and White House initiatives) and policy matters impacting children, youth, and families, (including child and adolescent mental health, child abuse, suicide, and bullying prevention). Also serves as Co-Director of the APA Congressional Fellowship Program.
Day Al-Mohamed, J.D., Senior Legislative & Federal Affairs Officer. Responsible for ethnic minority issues (focusing on language access and immigrant concerns) and disability issues as related to educational access and discrimination. Also responsible for issues involving the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Tammy Barnes, Administrative Coordinator. Provides administrative support and coordination for Public Interest and Science Government Relations initiatives.
Daniel Dawes, J.D., Senior Legislative & Federal Affairs Officer. Responsible for issues impacting HIV/AIDS; Indian health care; health disparities (with Lori Valencia Greene); and children, youth, and family matters (including school-based mental health, child welfare, child support, and Head Start).
Diane Elmore, Ph.D., M.P.H., Senior Legislative & Federal Affairs Officer. Responsible for issues impacting aging (including caregiving and long-term care); trauma, violence and abuse (including elder abuse, emergency/disaster preparedness and response, hate crime, human trafficking, intergenerational trauma and abuse, PTSD, and violence against women); military service member and veteran health; and issues regarding the health and well-being of refugee and indigenous populations. Also serves as Co-Director of the APA Congressional Fellowship Program.
Micah Haskell-Hoehl, Policy Associate. Responsible for administering the APA Congressional Fellowship program. Also assists Public Interest Government Relations staff in tracking legislation and conducting policy-related research with a focus on child, youth, and family issues. Coordinates all web site related initiatives.
Jeff McIntyre, M.A., Senior Legislative & Federal Affairs Officer. Responsible for media and technology (including television ratings, the internet, and childhood obesity); juvenile justice; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues; and crime and violence.
Joslyn Smith, Senior Legislative Assistant. Responsible for issues related to eating disorders and obesity. Also assists Public Interest Government Relations staff in tracking legislation, conducting policy-related research, and developing policy publications. Coordinates the public policy graduate student internship program.

Jolanda Knowlin, M.A. Provides assistance to Public Interest Government Relations staff on issues impacting children, youth, and families; ethnic minorities; and individuals with disabilities.
Jutta Tobias, M.S. Provides assistance to Public Interest Government Relations staff on issues impacting older adults; trauma and abuse; and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals.

EDUCATION POLICY
Nina Levitt, Ed.D., Associate Executive Director for Education Policy. Responsible for authorizing and appropriating legislation and agency relations regarding education and training programs for psychology in the Departments of Health and Human Services (Bureau of Health Professions and Bureau of Primary Health Care) and Education including the Graduate Psychology Education Program and the National Health Service Corps.
Jennifer B. Smulson, Senior Education Legislative and Federal Affairs Officer. Responsible for authorizing and appropriating legislation and agency relations regarding the application of psychology to schools and education including the Higher Education Act and the No Child Left Behind Act.
Emily Rath., Legislative Associate. Responsible for grassroots activities including advocacy training, hill visits, and conferences, coalition representation and lobbying as assigned for education and training and the impact of psychology on education.
Jessica Goshow, Legislative Assistant. Provide administrative assistance for lobbying and grassroots activities and manage communication with APA Members, congressional and federal agency offices.

Geoffrey Mumford, Ph.D., Director for Science Policy. Liaison to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA); National Science Foundation (Biological Sciences Directorate), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and Federal Aviation Administration (human factors research).
Patricia Kobor, M.A., Senior Science Policy Analyst. Serves as liaison to National Institutes of Health (NIH) (all institutes except NICHD, NIAAA, NIDA, and NIMH), NIH women's health research, NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research, and White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
Heather Kelly, Ph.D., Senior Legislative & Federal Affairs Officer. Liaison to Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and National Science Foundation (Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences Directorate).
Karen Studwell, J.D., Legislative & Federal Affairs Officer. Liaison to National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), and the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) within the Department of Education.
Elizabeth Hoffman, Ph.D., Legislative and Federal Affairs Officer. Liaison to National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Anne Bettesworth, Science Policy Associate. Liaison to Department of Justice; assists science policy staff in tracking legislative developments, conducting policy-related research, and organizing congressional briefings and other events.
