The new Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Older Adults were approved as APA policy by the Council of Representatives in August 2003. The document was drafted by an Interdivisional Task Force on Practice in Clinical Geropsychology of Division 12- Section II (Clinical Psychology- Clinical Geropsychology) and Division 20 (Adult Development and Aging).
