The Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) and the American Psychological Association (APA) are working together to publish the three journals of the CPA.
Beginning in 2008, APA will provide publishing services for the print journals and electronic access through PsycARTICLES®, APA's full-text electronic database. The electronic access includes all articles, beginning with Volume 1, Issue 1, published in each journal.
Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science offers empirical research in many areas of psychology, including abnormal, behavioural, community, counseling, educational, environmental, developmental, health, clinical, personality, psychometrics, and social. This journal publishes quarterly beginning in January.
Canadian Psychology includes generalist articles in the areas of theory, research, and practice that are of interest to a broad cross-section of psychologists. The journal publishes quarterly beginning in February.
Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology presents original research papers that advance the understanding of the broad field of experimental psychology. The journal publishes quarterly beginning in March.
"We are very pleased to be working with the APA. Our collaboration allows us to achieve our mutual goals of providing greater access to premier psychology information by the psychology community," said John Service, PhD, CPA's Executive Director.
"Both the APA and the CPA are dedicated to advancing the field of psychology and disseminating knowledge through peer-reviewed publications. By partnering with the CPA, we can expand the reach of the latest developments and research in psychology," said Gary R. VandenBos, PhD, APA's Publisher.
Complete information about the three journals, including editorial board members, manuscript submissions, and subscription rates, is available on the CPA Publications web site or the APA Journals web site.
The Canadian Psychological Association was organized in 1939 and incorporated under the Canada Corporations Act, Part II, in May 1950. The objectives of the Association are to improve the health and welfare of all Canadians; to promote excellence and innovation in psychological research, education, and practice; to promote the advancement, development, dissemination, and application of psychological knowledge; and to provide high-quality services to members.
The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States and is the largest association of psychologists in the world. For more than 75 years, the APA Journals Program has been dedicated to advancing psychology as a science and as a means of promoting health, education, and human welfare by disseminating knowledge through an extensive publishing program.
