APA Announces Publication of the Journal of Neuroscience, Psychology, and Economics

The American Psychological Association (APA) has become the publisher of the Journal of Neuroscience, Psychology, and Economics, in partnership with the Association for NeuroPsychoEconomics. The journal is the first peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes research on neuroeconomics, decision neuroscience, consumer neuroscience, and neurofinance, in addition to more classical topics from economics and business research.

JPNE is co-edited by Martin Reimann, PhD, and Oliver Schilke, PhD. Reimann is affiliated with the Brain and Creativity Institute at the University of Southern California, and Schilke is affiliated with the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences (IRiSS) at Stanford University.

The mission of the Journal of Neuroscience, Psychology, and Economics is to publish interdisciplinary, original research dealing with the application of psychological theories or neuroscientific methods to business and economics. Articles in the journal employ psychological theory or neuroscientific methods to illuminate subjects of particular interest to academicians in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, business, and economics.

Article topics include:

• solving business and economics problems (in areas like consumer behavior, behavioral finance, organizational behavior, and decision science)
• analyzing interpersonal behavior (including relationships between supervisors and subordinates, between customers and suppliers, and between investors and companies)
• examining ethical and legal issues at the interface of psychology, neuroscience, and business and economics research

APA's Publisher, Gary R. VandenBos, PhD, recently welcomed the Journal of Neuroscience, Psychology, and Economics to the APA Journal Program, commenting that "this journal is truly interdisciplinary in its focus, through its publication of state-of-the-art research that integrates the latest findings from economics, business, psychology, and neuroscience—as well as other related behavioral sciences—in a unique way. We are pleased to have it join APA's family of journals."

The Journal of Neuroscience, Psychology, and Economics is one of several journals beginning publication under the aegis of APA during 2009.
