Meet Alison Cody
Alison joined the team in June 2011 as a Documentation Training Specialist. Previously, she was the Public Relations and Instruction Librarian at the Loyola/Notre Dame Library in Baltimore, where she promoted library resources and services, assisted with planning for exhibits and programs, staffed the reference desk, and taught library research classes covering resources in marketing, business, and literature. She has also delivered conference presentations on web-based technology platforms, and while in library school, founded a series of peer-taught workshops to introduce her classmates to emerging and existing technologies, ranging from creating web pages to learning about wikis and RSS feeds.
Alison holds an MSLIS from Simmons College in Boston and a BA in English from Boston University. In 2008, she was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker. She is currently the president of ACRL MD, the academic libraries division of the Maryland Library Association and the Maryland chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries.
Recently, Alison co-managed a beta test for the new database, PsycTHERAPY®. In the future she will join our other training specialists in delivering webinars, creating online and print training materials, and conducting in-person training sessions at conferences. Her knowledge of libraries and librarianship will help ensure that our training materials are as useful and relevant as possible to instructional specialists and end-users.
