General Call for Papers

Psychoanalytic Psychology is the official journal of APA Division 39 (Psychoanalysis). Psychoanalytic Psychology is a peer-reviewed, quarterly journal that serves as a resource for original contributions that reflect and broaden the interaction between psychoanalysis and psychology.

Manuscripts that involve issues in psychology raised by psychoanalysis and issues in psychoanalysis raised by psychology are welcome. The journal publishes clinical papers, research papers, literature reviews, clinical notes, brief reports, commentary, and book reviews.

In addition to regular submissions, we are looking for papers on the following topics:

  • Psychotherapy theory and research
  • Developmental theory and research
  • Psychopathology theory and research
  • Diversity theory and research
  • Psychoanalysis and the neurosciences

All articles published in Psychoanalytic Psychology are included in PsycINFO® and PsycARTICLES®, the world's most comprehensive and widely used psychological databases. Published articles will be available to a global audience of nearly 3,200 institutions and 60 million potential users.
