Delegation to Cuba seeks additional members

APA is offering a unique opportunity to study practices, treatment and education in psychology as part of a delegation to Cuba in March.

Cuban men socializingFormer APA president Carol Goodheart, EdD, will lead a delegation of APA members to Cuba from March 18-23, 2012, to study practices, treatment and education in psychology. Working with Professionals Abroad, a division of Academic Travel Abroad that handles logistical arrangements, Goodheart and APA are searching for full-time professionals in psychology to take part in this rare opportunity.

The trip will support APA’s mission to advance the creation, communication and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people’s lives. Specific meetings will be based largely on the experience, background and interests of the delegation members. 

Topics of discussion will include mental health; psychotherapy; primary care; women’s issues; children, youth and family care; research; and disaster response.
