Volunteers of America names APA member to manage veterans’ mental health services
Volunteers of America, one of the nation’s oldest and largest human service charities, recently named APA member Dr. Jonathan Sherin as executive vice president for veteran’s affairs and chief medical officer. In this position, he will assist in expanding the organization’s services for veterans, helping to combat post-traumatic stress, depression, mild traumatic brain injury, substance abuse and dependence, suicide and more.
“Volunteers of America is uniquely positioned to help veterans though our housing assistance, employment and other supportive services. Jon is an innovative leader with an entrepreneurial spirit that will help us continue to grow and strengthen our programs on a national level,” said Volunteers of America National President Mike King.
