Candidates for APA president

Candidates for APA’s next presidential election are: Sheldon M. Cohen, PhD; Paul L. Craig, PhD; Todd E. Finnerty, PsyD; Douglas C. Haldeman, PhD; and Nadine J. Kaslow, PhD

Biographies and candidate statements for each of the presidential candidates are included in the May 2012 issue of the Monitor on Psychology. The winning candidate will serve as 2013 president-elect, 2014 president and 2015 past-president of the association.

The candidates, as well as the number of nominating votes they received, are:

All full members were eligible to be nominated for APA president and were invited to submit a candidate statement. Look for the candidates’ answers to questions on issues of concern to APA members in the June, July/August and September issues of the Monitor.

APA will email ballots to members for the election on Sept. 14, with paper ballots sent to members who do not have an email address on file. Members who receive paper ballots by mail will have the option to vote online or by mail. The election closes Oct. 29.
