Committee on Early Career Psychologists hosting multiple events at convention

Join the committee in Orlando, Fla., to meet the members and learn how to get more involved in APA governance.

APA’s Committee on Early Career Psychologists (CECP) invites early career psychologists in APA, division and state association leadership roles to meet at the Early Career Psychologist Leadership Network business meeting at this year’s convention. CECP members Ayşe Çiftçi and Katharine Hahn Oh will chair the meeting on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m. in the Blue Spring Room I at the Peabody Orlando Hotel.

Up for discussion is APA’s nomination and appointment process, how to get involved in APA governance and how different groups are involving early career psychologists in leadership roles.

In addition, CECP is focused on connecting with early career attendees at the convention. Interested individuals can join committee members for coffee and pastries on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the early career booth near the exhibit hall and for the early career social hour on Friday, Aug. 3, at 6:00 p.m. in the Plaza International Ballroom K at the Peabody Orlando Hotel.

Attendees with children may also be interested in APA’s Kid’s Place, sponsored by CECP, available from Thursday, Aug. 2, through Saturday, Aug. 4, at the convention center in room 206.
