Enrollment for APA Psychology Department Program now open

New educational package for psychology departments enhances learning with numerous publications and resources.

APA’s Psychology Department Program is a subscription package designed to provide undergraduate psychology programs and departments with access to useful publications and resources to enhance teaching and learning. The 2012-2013 program will provide two new APA books:

  • Teaching Ethically: Challenges and Opportunities, identifying four broad areas of concern in the ethical teaching of undergraduate psychology: pedagogy, student behavior, faculty behavior toward students and considerations in the diverse classroom. 

  • Evidence-Based Teaching for Higher Education, synthesizing findings from the scholarship of teaching and learning in order to help university teachers choose techniques and tools that maximize student learning.

Other APA resources provided through the program include Principles for Quality Undergraduate Education in Psychology, Guidelines for the Undergraduate Psychology Major (PDF, 164KB), a careers in psychology DVD and guide, three complimentary one-year student affiliate memberships as well as subscriptions to the American Psychologist, Monitor on Psychology, gradPSYCH, Psychology Teacher Network and Educator. In addition, programs may subscribe to an APA email list that provides news for faculty and students.

Departments can sign up for the program online and be listed as participants on APA’s website for $300 per year.
