APA debuts online fellows application platform

The online application system allows nominees, endorsers and division fellows chairs to submit materials electronically.

The APA Fellows Committee launched a new online application platform in September to streamline the nomination, endorsement and selection process for APA fellows. Replacing the previous, paper-based process, the new system relies on users’ existing MyAPA accounts to simplify the entire application process.

Fellow status is an honor given to APA members who have shown unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology. Fellow status requires that a person's work has had a national impact on the field of psychology.

The APA Fellows Committee reviews each fellow application and makes a recommendation on each to the association's Board of Directors and Council of Representatives. Division fellows chairs should submit nominee applications by Feb. 11, 2013, for consideration in the next fellows election.

For additional information or help with the application platform, contact APA Fellows Committee Liaison Sonja Wiggins at (202) 336-5590 or by email.
