Delivering improved APA information technology services and solutions

APA’s Information Technology Services enhanced myAPA, created a mobile app and improved an internal financial management system.

APA’s Information Technology Services (ITS) made numerous enhancements in 2013 to the association’s various technologies, both internal and external. On the website, users can now log into myAPA using their Gmail username and password. In addition, myAPA now remembers users’ credentials for easier access. Also within myAPA, the opt-in platform for newsletters continued to grow, with more than 344,000 subscriptions, as did the research alerts platform, with more than 24,000 members creating custom research alerts based on their interest areas.

ITS created and launched a mobile app for PsycNET, allowing members and subscribers to access the entire APA family of publishing databases via a simple search screen. This app joins a family of APA apps, including APA Journals, APA Journals Pro, PsycEssentials, the APA Concise Dictionary of Psychology and the convention app.

ITS also implemented a new financial management system to bring new efficiencies to the association’s internal financial operations, and worked with the Web Strategy & Content Office to launch a new version of the website’s content management system and search engine.
