AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION SPONSORS FREE COMMUNITY FAIR FOR NINTH WARD AND ST. BERNARD PARISH “REBUILDING COMMUNITIES IN MIND AND BODY”


WHAT:

    Rebuilding Communities in Mind and Body” is a free fair intended for children and adults from the 9th Ward and St. Bernard Parish to celebrate the city’s unique and vibrant culture that not even one of the largest-scale natural disasters could crush.

    The fair will feature gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans & rice and the Zydeco music of  Rockin Dopsie as well as a brass band.  There will be games with prizes for both children and adults.

    APA will have two booths with materials about rebuilding and preparing emotionally during hurricanes.  Psychologists will be on hand to answer questions.  In further support of the city of New Orleans, APA is holding its annual conference August 10 – 13 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  The Community Fair is one of several pre-conference events scheduled to coincide with the conference.
