American Psychological Association and Discovery Health Channel Launch Nationwide Public Education Campaign in Chicago

On Saturday, August 24 at 12:15 p.m., the American Psychological Association (APA) will launch a nationwide public education campaign. "The Road to Resilience" will provide people with information and steps to help build their own resilience in order to help them manage difficult situations, deal with stress and bounce back from adversity. The campaign will kick-off with the premiere of "Aftermath: The Road to Resilience" (9:00 p.m., August 29, Discovery Health Channel), a documentary co-produced by APA and the Discovery Health Channel, and will continue with grassroots activities nationwide.

Russ Newman, PhD, JD, APA's executive director for professional practice, and Bob Reid senior vice president and general manager of the Discovery Health Channel, will discuss what lead APA and Discovery Health to embark on this landmark project as well as specifics of the campaign, the grassroots outreach activities and a five-minute presentation of the documentary "Aftermath: The Road to Resilience."
