New Guidelines for McDonnell Awards in Human Cognition

The James S. McDonnell Foundation has announced new guidelines for its Scholar Awards in Understanding Human Cognition.  Rather than issue a general call for applications, the foundation will work “with a broad network of senior scholars in cognitive neuroscience, cognitive psychology and cognitive science to help . . . identify potential applicants,” who will then be invited to submit proposals for review by a foundation advisory board.  No unsolicited applications will be accepted.

The foundation expects to fund up to fifteen $600,000 awards each year.  The next round of recipients will be announced in late summer or early fall of 2010.
