National Eye Institute seeks comments for strategic plan
The National Eye Institute (NEI), a component of the National Institutes of Health, is requesting comments from the scientific community as it updates its National Plan for Eye and Vision Research, which was last revised in 2004. NEI supports both basic and clinical research on the visual system, including research on visual attention and visual cognition.
NEI invites scientists to respond to two questions:
What are the most significant scientific discoveries in vision research that have occurred since 2004?
What are the most significant scientific research needs, gaps, and opportunities that should be addressed by the NEI?
Responses should be e-mailed by February 1, 2011. More information can be found in NEI’s formal Request for Information.
