Quantitative Training for Underrepresented Groups: Call for applications
The 8th annual Quantitative Training for Underrepresented Groups (QTUG) Conference will be held in Washington, DC, on August 1-3, 2011 (immediately prior to the APA Convention). Participants are exposed to quantitative methods and research in psychology through instruction, discussion, and informal interactions with prominent scientists. Participants also have opportunities to present their own work for review and feedback. Awards are given for leading research by conference participants.
The conference is designed primarily to provide training to advanced undergraduate or graduate students from groups underrepresented in science. Applicants with a Ph.D. who are from underrepresented groups will also be considered. Limited funding support is available for selected participants.
The conference is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, with additional support from the Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology, American Psychological Association, and several private donors.
Applications should be made online at the application link of the QTUG website. A two-page resume should also be submitted. The deadline for submitting application materials is February 1, 2011. Acceptance decisions are expected to be made by April.
