NIH seeks input on enhancing graduate and post-doc training
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) invites comments on how it can implement the recommendations (PDF, 4.36MB) of a recent NIH working group on building the U.S. scientific workforce to meet the research and health needs of the future.
Among the topics for which input is invited are:
Individual development plans for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
How to encourage timely completion of the doctoral degree.
Assessing success of training programs, in terms of various career outcomes of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
Benefit packages for post-doctoral fellows.
Federal agency support for faculty salaries.
