Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists

Science magazine, a publication of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and SciLifeLab, a collaboration of four Swedish universities, have announced their joint sponsorship of the annual Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists. 

The grand prize winner will receive a prize of US $25,000 and three runners-up will each receive prizes of US $5,000. The grand prize winning essay will be published in Science and essays from the three runners-up will be published online. 

The applicant’s work must fall within one of the following categories:

  • Genomics/proteomics/systems biology
  • Developmental biology (including evolution)
  • Molecular and cellular biology
  • Environmental life science (including biodiversity)

For the 2013 competition, applications should have received their doctoral degrees in 2011 or 2012. The deadline for applications is Aug. 15, 2013. Additional information can be found at the prize website.
