APASSC Early Researcher Award Application File Requirements
DEADLINE:
Complete applications must be RECEIVED ELECTRONICALLY by August 22, 2008. Please send your completed PDF and/or Word files to science [at] apa [dot] org.
Application Form
The application form must be signed by both the applicant and the department chair/head.
After filling out, printing, and signing the application form you must scan it in and create a PDF. To do this you may use the 'create PDF, from scanner' feature in Adobe Acrobat if you have access to a scanner. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat or a scanner, often times Xerox machines will have an option to scan to PDF and email the file to you which you can then forward to us. If neither of these work as an option for you, contact your school's IT department and ask for assistance.
It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you do not submit any file(s) over 10MB in size. Often email systems block files over 10MB which means we will never get your completed application. If the sum of your files is larger than 10MB, we suggest sending each attachment in a separate email.

We understand that a 30 page research paper may tend to get very large in file size especially if you use images and graphics. We have found, however, that files over 10MB in size are a lot less likely to get through various email systems. We urge you to keep the file size of your research paper under this limit. One way to dramatically reduce file size is to lower the resolution of the images you are using. Before inserting them into your document, reduce the resolution of all images to 72 dpi. In addition, if you send your research paper as a Word document or convert it from Word to PDF directly and then send — as opposed to printing your paper and then scanning to PDF — this will help keep the file size as low as possible. If you are having trouble meeting this requirement, please contact Kirk Waldroff at the APA Science Directorate for assistance.
