The ABC's of School Testing

Developed by the Joint Committee on Testing Practices (JCTP) and a collaboration of several other testing organizations, this videotape is designed to help parents understand the many uses of testing in schools today. Various types of tests and their appropriate uses in the school setting are illustrated, and aptitude and achievement tests are also discussed. In addition to the videotape, two publications are also included: Leader's Guide and the Code of Fair Testing Practices. Code of Fair Testing Practices in Education

Developed by JCTP, the Code of Fair Testing Practices in Education provides guidance to professionals who develop or use educational tests. The code has been revised to remain consistent with the 1999 Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing and to develop supplementary materials to assist in the use and dissemination of the code. Questionnaires Used in the Prediction of Trustworthiness in Pre-Employment Selection Decisions: An APA Task Force Report

Developed by a joint task force of APA Division 14 - Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and Division 5 - Evaluation, Measurement and Statistics, this 40-page report examines pre-employment integrity tests and related instruments. Report of the Task Force on Test User Qualifications

The report of the Task Force on Test User Qualifications (PDF, 410KB), established in 1996 at the direction of the APA Council of Representatives, contains guidelines that inform test users and the general public of the qualifications that the APA considers important for the competent and responsible use of psychological tests. Responsible Test Use: Case Studies for Assessing Human Behavior

One of the major problems in educational and psychological measurement has been the misuse of test data. Developed by a working group of JCTP, Responsible Test Use was developed to help train professionals to use tests wisely. Rights and Responsibilities of Test Takers

Developed by JCTP, Rights and Responsibilities of Test Takers: Guidelines and Expectations is a statement explaining the rights and responsibilities of test takers during the testing process as well as the general expectations of test takers held by those who develop, administer, and use tests.
