The Board of Scientific Affairs' Committee on Animal Research and Ethics (CARE) is charged with safeguarding the ethical use of nonhumans in research and teaching in psychology.
The Committee's efforts are aimed at enhancing public understanding of the value of behavioral research with such animals, and enhancing the public's support for behavioral research with animals other than humans.
