Summer Science Institute

From 1996 to 2007, the Science Directorate organized the Summer Science Institute (SSI) - a 10-day intensive program designed to immerse students in the science of psychology. The Institute gave students an opportunity to explore the intellectual, personal, and social processes of scientific inquiry and to experience cutting-edge psychological research through seminars and hands-on laboratory activities.

The program was proven to be quite competitive. The criteria for selection included high school and college course selection and GPAs, college entrance exam scores, letter(s) of reference, and responses to the short essay questions.

As of 2008, the Summer Science Fellowship program has taken the place of the SSI. For more information and application instrutctions, click here.
