ABOUT THE VIDEO

The American Psychological Association Psychotherapy Stimulus Series video Therapist–Client Boundary Challenges presents selected scenes of distinguished psychologists facing therapist–client boundary issues.

The seven vignettes on this video are designed to stimulate discussion of preferred responses to ethically ambiguous situations. Designed for clinical training, this video is appropriate for workshops or individual study for the professional development of practicing clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, counselors, and psychology graduate students.

This video features clients portrayed by actors skilled in improvisation, on the basis of actual case material. The therapists were not briefed in advance on the nature of the scenarios being enacted,, so their responses are spontaneous and unrehearsed.
