Consistent with Domain H.2 of the Guidelines and Principles for Accreditation (PDF, 131KB) and Implementing Regulation C-19, all accredited programs are reminded to notify the Commission on Accreditation (CoA) of changes that could affect the quality of training and education. With the provision of additional funds, such as those provided to accredited internships by the APA Board of Educational Affairs or the Department of Veterans Affairs, it is especially important for these programs to notify CoA in order to ensure that the addition of new positions, new rotations or different learning experiences meet the standards of the profession for continued accreditation.
Programs are also reminded to notify the commission when there is a change in the program’s training director and provide the contact information (including the email address) for that individual. If the new director was not previously involved with the program, his/her CV must also be provided for the program’s records.
