Looking for a way to serve the profession of psychology? Become an accreditation site visitor.
A significant strength of specialized accreditation is that it is, indeed, a peer review process requiring the professional knowledge of experts in the profession and discipline. Given the diversity of training and program aims, it is vital that the Commission on Accreditation (CoA) has a robust cadre of site visitors to provide effective and appropriate observations.
Recruitment of site visitors is vital as we transition from the Guidelines and Principles for Accreditation of Professional Psychology to the Standards of Accreditation (SoA) for Health Service Psychology. By fall, 2016, CoA anticipates that we will need more than 300 site visitors, trained in the SoA, to cover early 2017 site visits.
All potential and current site visitors must complete site visitor training on the SoA prior to being placed in the SoA site visitor pool. This training will be offered at a number of the midwinter training council meetings, and will also be offered online. Continuing education credit will be offered for both the in-person and online training. CoA is in the process of finalizing the dates, locations and times for the in-person training. Please check the list of upcoming workshops periodically for upcoming training sessions.
