On Feb. 9, 2017, the full commission commenced its annual policy meeting with a series of “calibration” exercises designed to support the program review process and maximize consistency in decision making. As is typical of the annual policy meeting, no programs were reviewed. Instead, Commission on Accreditation (CoA) focused on a number of important policy issues, including a review of the recently collected public comment relative to various proposed revisions to the Implementing Regulations (IRs). The public comment period opened in December 2016 and yielded useful feedback on the proposed revisions through its close in early February 2017. These comments informed the CoA’s continued review and discussion of the proposed revisions to the following IRs:
- C-7 D. Discipline-Specific Knowledge.
- C-8 D., C-8 I. and C-9 P. Profession-Wide Competencies (specifically Section VI., Assessment).
- C-14 D. Direct Observation.
- D.4-7 (a). Use of Annual Reports for Reaffirmation of Accredited Status and Monitoring of Individual Programs.
- D.4-7 (c). Use of Narrative Annual Reports for Reaffirmation of Accredited Status and Monitoring of Individual Programs.
