Postdoctoral: Accreditation Consultation Training Program

The Accreditation Consultation Training Program postdoctoral residency modules include an overview of APA accreditation as well as standards for postdoctoral programs, including aims and learning experiences for postdoctoral programs, postdoctoral residency competencies, self-study requirements and information about accreditation for consortium programs.

Modules

  • Module 1
    Overview of Accreditation in the United States: This module provides a general overview of accreditation in the United States. 
  • Module 2
    Pathways to Accreditation: This module outlines the paths that programs may take toward obtaining APA accreditation. 
  • Module 3
    Overview of the Accreditation Process: This module provides an overview of the APA accreditation process and the Commission on Accreditation (CoA). 
  • Module 4
    Transition from G&P to SoA: This module includes information about the transition from Guidelines and Principles for Accreditation of Programs in Professional Psychology (G&P) to the Standards of Accreditation (SoA).
  • Module 7
    Standard I for Postdoctoral Programs: This module covers the requirements of Standard I for postdoctoral programs.
  • Module 10
    Standard V for Postdoctoral Programs: This module covers the requirements of Standard V for postdoctoral programs.
  • Module 13
    Standard III for Residents: This module covers the requirements of Standard III for postdoctoral programs.

    Standard IV for Program Faculty Staff: This module covers the requirements of Standard IV for postdoctoral programs.
  • Module 22
    Standard II: Aims and Learning Experiences for Postdoctoral Programs: This module covers programmatic aim(s) and general learning experience requirements.
  • Module 23
    Standard II.B: Postdoctoral Residency Competencies; This module describes the competencies required of all residents within an accredited postdoctoral residency.
  • Module 24
    Standard II.D: Evaluation of Resident Competencies: This module outlines the evaluation of competencies required of all residents within an accredited postdoctoral residency, including the provision of proximal and distal outcome data.
  • Module 30
    Completing Postdoctoral Program Self-f Study Tables: This module provides guidance on how to complete the tables that accompany a self-study.
  • Module 31
    APA Accreditation Consortium: This module covers consortium programs at all levels of training and how a consortium adheres to the SoA.
