This chart shows a consistent decline in GRE requirements for psychology doctoral degree programs from 2020–2021 to 2023–2024. In 2020–2021, 45% of programs required GRE Quantitative and Verbal scores, but that dropped to 8% and 7%, respectively, by 2023–2024. GRE Writing requirements also fell from 40% to just 6% over the same period. The data reflects a clear shift away from standardized testing in doctoral admissions.
