Contributor bios
Joyce C. Mills, PhD, is a Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Play Therapy Supervisor, international trainer, and recipient of the Play Therapy International award for a major contribution to the field of Play Therapy and Child Psychology. Author of several books for all ages, she specializes in storytelling as a healing process. Dr. Mills has a private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Cary Pillo grew up on a farm near the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. Surrounded by animals, she began drawing at an early age. Cary received her fine arts degree for Washington State University and has been an illustrator for some fifteen years. She is the illustrator of several children's books, including A Terrible Thing Happened, Tibby Tried It, and Jenny is Scared: When Sad Things Happen in the World and her colorful characters appear in many children's magazines as well. She lives in Seattle with her husband and son, and their dog Rocket.
