Learn about what the RESilience Initiative is through a youth perspective. The Children, Youth and Families Office Youth Advisory Board breaks down how they understand RESilience.

To fully understand how youth think about and understand racial/ethnic socialization (RES), APA turned to its CYFO Youth Advisory board, which includes youth ages 13 to 19 from different racial and ethnic backgrounds, and asked, “What comes to mind when you think of resilience and socialization?” The purpose of this activity was to translate the technical terms and research in RES into easier-to-understand language for parents/caregivers and their children to communicate. Parents/caregivers can use these concepts when talking to their children about race and resilience.
