VHS Compatibility

All videotapes sold by the American Psychological Association are produced in NTSC format and should play on any videocassette players that are NTSC compatible. The videotapes will not play on videocassette players that are PAL or SECAM compatible.

DVD Compatibility

DVDs sold by the American Psychological Association are produced in NTSC format and are not region coded and should play on any DVD players that are NTSC compatible.

U.S. Domestic Orders:

Routine processing usually occurs within 2 business-days of receipt and is sent via UPS Ground (3–6 business-days transit time) from our East Coast distribution facilities. UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. If a P.O. Box is entered in the shipping information field, this can cause delays or non-delivery.

International customers may select between Economy or Guaranteed service. International economy service is non-guaranteed and does not provide tracking or date/time specific delivery. Delivery time for this level of service can take up to 8 weeks for delivery. If this level of service is selected, APA will not be held liable and will not honor any claims for undelivered, delayed or lost shipments. International guaranteed service provides tracking and guaranteed delivery with 3-5 days of shipping.

Shipping Charges

For Overnight or Second-Day Air delivery options, please call the APA Service Center at 1-800-374-2721 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

Rush Shipment

Our in-house rush service guarantees that an order will leave our facilities within 1–2 business days of when we receive your order. It is then sent via UPS Ground (3–6 business days transit time) from our East Coast distribution facilities. A rush shipment charge of $10 will be added to the routine shipping fee.

Non-U.S. Orders:

Routine international orders are usually processed within 2 business days of receipt and shipped via international consolidator (allow up to 8 weeks transit time).

Rush international orders guarantees processing within 1–2 business days and is sent via international mail consolidator (allow up to 8 weeks transit time) from our East Coast distribution facilities. A $10 rush charge will be added to the routine international shipping fee.

Shipment Method:

Routine shipment is by United Parcel Service (UPS) Ground Delivery Service. Allow 7–10 days for delivery from date order is received. Shipment methods other than UPS Ground Service are available by request. Order will be assessed the charge for the requested method in addition to the shipping and handling fee. UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. If a P.O. Box is entered in the shipping information field, this can cause delays or non-delivery.

Payment/Invoicing: All orders must be prepaid unless submitted on a purchase order. Payment is due 30 days from date of invoice.

Claims: Damage, shortages, or defective items must be reported immediately upon receipt. Claims made 1 month or more following invoice date will not be honored.

Returns: Written permission is required for all returns, except those from individuals. Individuals may return items within 30 days of invoice date. Please include a copy of the invoice with the returned item. APA invoice number must be stated in request. Except for APA error, shipping and handling charges and return shipping costs are not refundable.

Additional Terms for Resellers Only:

Those purchasing for resale (bookstores, agents, etc.) are entitled to a discount off the list price of applicable titles. Items marked with an asterisk (*), combination prices, and pamphlets with bulk purchase prices are not subject to discount. Journal back issues are not discounted, except special issues. Note: Reseller discounts do not apply to online ordering.

Shipping/Handling: Actual shipping charges will be added to the invoice, except for shipment via trucking company which will be shipped freight collect.

RUSH processing is available at $10.00 per domestic order (guarantees shipment within 1–2 days of receipt).

An Examination Copy is a copy of a publication that is being considered for course adoption. Upon approval, the publication will be sent to you followed by an invoice. You have 30 days to examine the publication. If you choose to adopt the publication you will be requested to provide the course number, course title, and the number of students. Once this information is provided, your invoice will be cancelled and the Examination Copy will become a Desk Copy. If the publication is not adopted, you may either purchase the book or return both the book and the invoice.

A Desk Copy is a free copy of a publication furnished for a faculty member's use when the publication has been adopted as a required text for classroom use.

To place an order for either an Examination or Desk Copy, please go to APA Course Adoption Order Form and follow the instructions to electronically submit your request. Please note that Magination Press children’s titles cannot be made available on an examination or desk copy basis.

Examination and desk copies can be provided only to faculty within the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Requests from other locations should be directed to the applicable international distributor.
