New members receive a lot of information upfront which can be overwhelming. Below are a couple of items to focus on when onboarding them to the APA Community and your private division group:
Introduce the community: Many may have already heard about this platform, but it's great to be the one to introduce this benefit. Members will not engage unless they are informed and given the green light to join this community.
Explain the basics: Members will vary in their aptness to technology. It's important to briefly let them know the basics so they can best utilize this benefit. This includes how to access, where to find groups, and that they can customize their settings.
Continue the conversation: Initially, you’re explaining the basics, but don’t forget to keep the information flowing. Newer members want to be continuously communicated with, let them know about other features in the community. Portfolios, forums, and the mobile app are all items to feature.
