If you are planning to reach out to remind people to renew, here are five things to consider when writing marketing copy.
- Personalize as much as possible and keep the focus on the member. Use language to let them know what’s in it for them—use “you” not “I/we.”
- Plan on a series of messages/efforts. Don’t rely on just one or two messages.
- Remind them of popular division benefits and create interest on future activities. Let them know what’s ahead.
- When it’s time to renew, use language that creates urgency like “Don’t miss out” or “Keep your benefits.”
- Later in the renewal cycle switch to “Your membership has expired” or “You will no longer receive benefits.”
- Consider adding a promo code for a special discount.
You can use the Division Leadership Portal to get your nonrenewal list. If you have questions, or need assistance please contact your division engagement liaison.
