Now that the APA Community has launched division groups, it's a great opportunity to engage your division members. This community has many potential benefits for divisions; one of the most exciting is its potential to boost member engagement and increase retention for your division.
Below are a couple ways to engage this online community:
Spread the news. Not all division members have heard the good news that this community has launched. Make sure to use other division communications (Listservs, newsletters, etc.) to point members to this online community.
Lead by example. To encourage engagement, it’s important for division leaders to post, reply to comments, and answer post questions. Members are much more likely to interact if they see others already engaging. A simple welcome message or sharing an article can really boost your group’s engagement!
APA will support division leaders by sending out communications to division members eligible to participate in the division communities. An email to division members will be sent soon, and we hope you will see an increase in participation.
