About APA
  1. An Ethnic Minority Psychological Association may, upon vote of Council, be affiliated with the American Psychological Association provided that the Council deems it in the best interests of the Association for such Ethnic Minority Psychological Association to be so affiliated.
  2. For purposes of this article, the following Ethnic Minority Psychological Association shall be deemed affiliated with the American Psychological Association: the American Arab, Middle Eastern and North African Psychological Association; the Asian American Psychological Association; Association of Black Psychologists; National Latinx Psychological Association; and the Society of Indian Psychologists.
  3. Each Ethnic Minority Psychological Association that is affiliated with the American Psychological Association shall be afforded one voting representative serving on the Council of Representatives of the American Psychological Association. 5. In the event that Council finds that any conditions of affiliation are not being fulfilled by an Ethnic Minority Psychological Association or that its affiliation is no longer in the best interest of the American Psychological Association, the principal officers of the Ethnic Minority Psychological Association shall be so informed and the affiliation may thereafter be terminated by a two-thirds vote of Council.
  6. The American Psychological Association shall not be responsible for the acts or omissions of the Ethnic Minority Psychological Associations, except as specifically authorized by these Bylaws or other duly promulgated rule of Council.
