About APA
Danny Wedding, PhD, was awarded a Presidential Citation for his remarkable career as a teacher, therapist, scholar, author, editor and policy maven.

Wedding is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and he is the only psychologist to have been both a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow and an APA Congressional Science Fellow, working successively and successfully in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Wedding is the editor of PsycCRITIQUES®, APA’s journal of book and film reviews and the editor for Div. 12 (Society of Clinical Psychology) book series Advances in Psychotherapy: Evidence Based Practice, which has globally shaped the practice of clinical psychology. He is arguably the world’s leading authority on the representation of mental illness in films. “Movies and Mental Illness,” “Handbook of International Psychology,” “Behavior and Medicine” and numerous other books have trained generations of psychologists and other health professionals, and more than a million students have learned the rudiments of psychotherapy from “Current Psychotherapies,” a book Wedding edited with Raymond Corsini. I am proud to recognize Wedding for these stellar professional achievements.
