About APA

Dee Ramsel, PhD, MBA, was awarded a Presidential Citation for her pioneer and leadership roles in clinical and counseling psychology.

As past president of the Society of Psychologists in Management and president-elect of the Society of Consulting Psychology (APA Div. 13), Ramsel has been a pioneer and leader for clinical and counseling psychologists. After a series of health care leadership roles, she was named director of training within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' National Center for Organization Development in 2008. Currently, she is the executive director of that center, with responsibilities across the entire Veterans Health Administration. As an innovative leader and educator, Ramsel developed a unique postdoctoral training program that targets clinical psychologists (students, early career practitioners, and consultants) transitioning into the field of consulting psychology and provides data-driven and evidence-based coaching, assessment and intervention. In her distinguishing career, Ramsel has been able to provide direct patient care, conduct research, engage in administrative leadership, teach at the local medical college, and consult leaders and employees across the system. More importantly, Ramsel inspires and leads by the example she sets for integrating her values into her personal and professional life.
