About APA

Katharine Hahn Oh, PhD, was awarded a Presidential Citation for her commitment, energy and skill in engaging early career psychologists (ECPs) in the organization’s lifeblood.

Oh has created new pathways for ECPs to become involved in the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP) and the American Psychological Association. As chair of the SCP Committee on ECPs, the number of involved ECPs increased significantly. Selected as the ECP representative to the faculty of the first Society Leadership Academy, her dedication to developing ECPs made her the ideal person to co-lead the second leadership academy. Because of her astute mentoring and effective role modeling, the society has many ECPs in leadership positions. Her election as SCP vice president for communications places her in a visible leadership role and she encourages ECPs to dream big. As the Division representative on the APA Committee on ECPs, she plays key roles in moving ECP agenda items through governance. Her unquenchable thirst for leadership development, strategic planning and organizational change has resulted in game-changing outcomes.
