Kathryn B. Anderson, PhD, is presented with this Presidential Citation in recognition of her exceptional leadership and unwavering service to the psychology profession.

As a committed mentor and advocate for the field, Anderson has continually worked to broaden access and inclusion within psychology. She has greatly enjoyed working with McNair scholars at Our Lady of Lake University over the past 28 years by conducting research with first-generation, predominantly Latine undergraduates and witnessing their successful completion of psychology graduate programs. Her collaboration with esteemed colleagues led to the successful receipt of APA’s CEMRRAT2 Implementation Grant for the initiative Demystifying Pathways Through Psychology for High School Student Scholars. Through this program, psychology professionals have actively engaged high school students of color—inviting them into the discipline and enabling participation in the 2024 APA convention. From this work, she was appointed cochair of the 2025 APA Presidential Task Force Engaging Psychology’s Future, dedicated to improving pathways to careers in psychology from high school and community college to four-year institutions and graduate programs for students, particularly those from underrepresented and disenfranchised backgrounds.

Anderson's contributions to APA, particularly within Division 35 (The Society for the Psychology of Women) are remarkable. Since 1993, she has served the division with distinction, including her tenure as president in 2022. Her leadership spans numerous critical roles—chairing committees on membership, conference programming, awards, and various task forces. What truly sets Anderson apart is her embodiment of the core values of intersectional feminism—equity, justice, collaboration, and compassion. She leads by example, inspiring students and colleagues alike with her integrity, dedication, and vision for a more inclusive discipline.

In recognition of her sustained and transformative impact on the field and her outstanding service to both APA and Division 35, the American Psychological Association is honored to award Anderson with this Presidential Citation. Her tireless commitment to mentoring and empowering the next generation of psychology professionals exemplifies the very best of our profession.
